The SFB1491 “Cosmic Interacting Matters – From Source to Signal” was founded in January 2022 and works on enhancing the understanding of energy transfer between the gas, magnetic field, cosmic rays, and dark matter in galaxies. The first phase has just come to an end in June 2026, and phase 2 will follow on from it in July 2026.
The first general assembly of Phase 2 will take place at the Campus Treff at TU Dortmund and will focus on the scientific direction of Phase 2 of CIM.
The general assembly with all SFB participants will be from November 16 to November 18. We will have three days dedicated to scientific exchange, featuring overview presentations by our PIs, and collaborative talks by ECRs.
Furthermore, we will offer a special training for all SFB members: a mandatory equal opportunity training on November 17.
In addition, there will be a PI meeting (at meeting place Calla) and a parallel ECR meeting on November 18. And last but not least, elections will be held for the ECR representative and the CIM board. This gives you the chance to get involved in the SFB beyond the realm of research.
